DAYS & TIMES: Typically, workshops are held on consecutive weekdays. Typically the times for Day 1 are 9:00am – 5:00pm; for Day 2 8:30am – 3:30pm. Please check carefully for your particular workshop. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes before start time each day in order to sign in for attendance verification, get materials, and get comfortable.

WLT reserves the right to change tuition rates at any time without notice. Your tuition is locked in with your deposit or payment in full.

A non-refundable deposit of $85.00 is required to cover the costs of the Study Guide, which you may download immediately and keep.

DISTANCE LEARNING: We send you everything you need to learn and study at home at your own pace. You can immediately enroll in the Independent Home-study Training Program for Certified Laughter Leader training. The course includes ten hours of recorded lectures, DVD of laughter exercise demonstrations, three textbooks, the WLT Study Guide & Reference Manual, CLL t-shirt, and telephone consultation. Tuition is $549.00.

HOST SITE PARTNERS: We can send an instructor anywhere to conduct our workshop via our Host Site Partner program. We will need a suitable classroom. See attached information below:

CONTINUING EDUCATION: There is a $35.00 surcharge for preparing CE certificates. Participants must provide relevant license number information.

Activity Therapy:  The workshop is Pre-approved for 11 clock hours by NCCAP.
Nursing: This activity has been submitted to the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) for approval to award contact hours. The American Holistic Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Social Work: This program is approved by the National Association of Social Workers. NASW – Approval # 886555693-8036 for 11 Social Work continuing education contact hours.
Case Managers: Approved by CCMC for 12 clock hours. Approval CM7198-A200.
Recreation Therapists and Professional Counselors: CE Pre-Approved by NCTRC (12 hours)

Please note: each attendee will be responsible for ensuring that the local licensing board will accept the CE credit being offered. We strongly recommend that you check with your individual state regulatory agency to determine whether or not you are eligible for continuing education credit by participating in this training.

SATISFACTORY COMPLETION: In order to receive a certificate, a participant must have paid the tuition fee in full, signed Attendance Verification, attended the entire workshop, and completed an evaluation. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. Partial credit is not available.

The persons listed as “Certified Laughter Leaders” have received education and training by the World Laughter Tour, Inc., to establish minimal basic skills relating to the use of activities, exercises, and concepts for stimulating laughter, humor and mirth and/or to establish minimal skills to guide individuals and groups in those activities, exercises, and concepts.

Unlicensed individuals, certified by the World Laughter Tour, Inc., are not to view this certification as a license to treat symptoms of a psychological, psychiatric or medical nature.  By law, only duly licensed professionals may include these methodologies within a treatment protocol.  Certified Laughter Leader training activities, exercises and concepts are designed to be used as relaxation methodologies, to encourage healthy lifestyle choices, and for personal entertainment purposes only, never to be portrayed as treatment modalities by unlicensed providers.

Requirements imposed on licensed individuals by law or professional associations take precedence over CLL certification.

Licensed and unlicensed individuals are encouraged to seek certifications for other methodologies, to attend Advanced Workshop training with World Laughter Tour, to attend conferences such as those offered by the Humor Project, and to affiliate with professional organizations such as the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor, and the International Society for Humor Studies. Appropriate use of these methodologies and any associated risks are the responsibility of each provider.

FINANCIAL AID Assistance in the form of educational grants may be available from the Laughter Arts & Sciences Foundation Application forms are available from the Foundation’s homepage. Please allow adequate time of at least 4 weeks for processing your application.

SHIPPING & HANDLING: Our normal method of shipping within the USA is USPS Priority Mail. Rates are calculated based on requirements of the United States Postal Service. We also use USPS Media Mail when appropriate. World Laughter Tour ships internationally. Expedited shipping, e.g. FedEx Overnight, is available at the buyer’s request and expense.

RENEWAL The designation of Certified Laughter Leader (CLL) is conferred at the completion of the 2-day standard workshop. It is valid for one year, and it is renewable. ‘Active’ status is at the discretion of the WLT Operations Team and subject to requirements as may be determined by the WLT Operations Team and Professional Advisory Committee to maintain the quality standards of WLT.  Your ‘Active’ status keeps you eligible for an extensive array of support services such as current information about theory and practice, CLL discounts, and membership in a private website community.  WLT notifies CLLs when it is time to renew, typically during the anniversary month of completing the basic training workshop. Renewal fees are subject to change without notice. 

CANCELLATION: If you register for a workshop and then cannot attend, you have these options: (1) You may send a substitute; or, (2) You may receive full credit toward any future workshop of the same price; or, (3) Your tuition will be refunded minus the non-refundable deposit. (4) If you cancel seven or more days ahead of the workshop, a $60.00 administrative fee will be charged; with less than seven days’ notice, the administrative fee is $80.00. (5) In the event that WLT cancels the workshop, you may apply your tuition to any future workshop or have an immediate tuition refund minus the non-refundable deposit.

ADA accommodations will be made in accordance with the law.  If you require ADA accommodations, please indicate what your needs are at the time of registration.  We cannot ensure the availability of appropriate accommodations without prior notification.

TAX DEDUCTION:  The expense of continuing education, when taken to maintain and improve professional skills, is tax deductible. There are also other business circumstances that may make such expenses tax deductible. Please contact your accountant for details.
