This program was designed to allow a variety of institutions to
enjoy the benefits of cost savings by hosting a 2-day basic
workshop to train Certified Laughter Leaders. Hospitals,
churches, colleges and others provide the site for the workshop
and some of the instrumental supports in exchange for tuition
waivers.

in laughter training for individuals, organizations, and service
to the community with an approach that is uplifting, simple and

HOST-SITE GOAL: To make Certified Laughter
Leader training accessible to the widest possible range of
audiences at the best possible prices; to keep costs down with
no sacrifice in quality; to allow host sites to garner
significant public relations benefits as they bring innovative
health related programs to their constituents.

Typical Arrangements for Two-day Laughter Leader Certification
Training
Types of Workshops:
Public Workshop Open to the public
Private Workshop Limited to the constituents of the host,
e.g., employees
Combined Workshop Open to the public but reserves a
specified number of places for constituents of the host
General Host Site Definition Normally, provides training
facility, AV needs, and refreshments for AM/PM breaks, and
marketing support; receives scholarships per agreed upon
incentive schedule
Date: Private workshops can be conducted as soon as there is a
mutually convenient date.
Public and Combined (Public/Private) workshops, usually need
9-12 months lead time to allow for adequate promotion of the
event

Fees (per World Laughter Tour fee schedule)
Registration fee includes: Two-day
theory & practice session; extensive Laughter Leader Study
Guide, official laughter leader t-shirt, mini-mirth aide kit,
Laughter Leader Certificate suitable for framing, personal
listing on WLT website; membership in on-line news and support
group, CD ROM of resource documents, i.e., posters, publicity
releases; lunch on Day Two.
2007 Private Workshop Fees generally
reflect considerations for savings created by, for example,
having a guaranteed number of attendees, and minimizing
marketing/promotional costs.
Note: Normally, lunch on Day
2 will be box lunch, with catering arranged by the host.
Individual lunch preferences, from a limited menu, are specified
as part of the registration process. Other meal options can be
discussed; WLT pays up to $8 per person for lunch.
Host Site Responsibilities:
Host site agrees to provide the
following in exchange for host site incentive:

training room suitable
for experiential learning format, normally for up to 30
participants, e.g. round tables with 6 chairs per table;
plus 2-3 breakout rooms for laughter club applied learning
practice sessions,

A/V equipment (need LCD
projector, computer, turn chart with easel and markers, CD
player or i-Pod speakers; lavaliere mic for groups of 25 or
more)

Refreshments for morning
and afternoon breaks. Refreshments to be determined by host
site. Sample AM Refreshments include coffee (regular and
decaf), hot water for tea, tea selection, fresh fruit,
juices, bottled water; sample PM Refreshments include sodas,
bottled water, fruit or cookies, brownies, etc.
Host
Site Incentive Schedule for Public or Combined Workshop:
Minimum workshop size is 10 paid
participants.
10-19 paid participants, host site
receives 1 scholarship.
20-24 paid participants, host site
receives 2 scholarships.
25-30 paid participants, host site
receives 3 scholarships.
Host
Site Incentive Schedule for Private Workshop:
Available, same as above, when participants
register at standard rates.
Registration
Process:
For public workshops, WLT requires all participants, except for
host site scholarship recipients, to register and pre-pay for
training through World Laughter Tour. Registrations for training
can be accomplished on-line at
www.worldlaughtertour.com, or by phone at 614-855-4733, or
by FAX to 614-855-4889. For scholarship recipients, host site
notifies WLT of scholarship recipient(s) registration
information.
Marketing Strategy:

There are excellent
opportunities for publicity that promotes the host as well
as promoting the event. Host sites enjoy valuable public
relations opportunities.

WLT will brainstorm leads
and Media Advisory wording with the host marketing or other
appropriate department

Host shares training
information with all department heads and community partners

Training dates and host
logo are posted on World Laughter Tour web site. The host
logo is linked to the host website.

Depending on lead time,
WLT e-mails info and/or does direct mail campaign to data
base of potential participants
